A leader in addressing the community issue of suicide, The Wellspring’s Counseling and Family Development Center offers our area’s only certified trainers of the Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) workshop for caregivers who want to feel more ready, willing, and able to help prevent the immediate risk of suicide. ASIST, a two-day, evidence-based, highly interactive, practice-oriented workshop featuring small group discussions, and skills practice. ASIST is the most widely used model for suicide first aid. This free publication of SAMSHA assists high schools and school districts in designing and implementing strategies to prevent suicide and promote behavioral health. Includes tools to implement a multi-faceted suicide prevention program that responds to the needs and cultures of students.
