What does the Family Visitation Center do?
The Family Visitation Center provides “supervised visitation” and “safe exchanges” for families where there is a concern for safety. Supervised visitation is when c h i l d r e n and the parent visit together while a staff member supervises to  make sure everyone is safe. Safe exchange is when parents drop off and pick up the children in a safe place so that the parents do not have to see each other.

Why is this important?
Every year, many adults in our area make a decision that they can no longer be together. Sometimes people who are separating need help with visitation between children and one of the parents. Having a place like the Family Visitation Center can help families with visits and exchanges. Often parents have hurt and angry feelings toward one another about supervised visitation and exchange. We understand what you are going through and care about your family.

What happens at the Family Visitation Center?
The Family Visitation Center is a place where a child and parent can meet in a family friendly and safe setting. The safety of your and your children is our main concern. Our staff of caring visit monitors, supervisors, and security officers stays nearby to make sure everyone is comfortable and safe.

What if I need other services for my family?
We hope you feel comfortable telling us about any needs that you and your family may have. Our staff can refer you to community resources for services such as housing, legal assistance, help with income, help with medical care, etc. The Wellspring Counseling and Family Development Center staff (in the same building) can provide counseling, parent education, or custody evaluations, or we can refer you to others in the community who can help you with those services.

Safety
Our highest priority is the safety of all participants. Staff members, including a security officer, are present during all visits and exchanges to ensure the safety of all parties.
