What's the latest?

Big Brothers Big Sisters of NELA helps high school students learn how to be a force for change at the Civic Engagement Institute for Youth (May 22-May23). Teams of students research and propose solutions to community problems like fracking and wetlands, teacher accountability, crime and poverty, state budget cuts to higher education, and more. The students present their solutions to a panel of community leaders to close out the event, which is sponsored by CenturyLink and a grant from the Louisiana Children’s Trust Fund.
